Ready for a look at Windows 7? I know a lot of you are anxious to see whether it will be a decent OS like XP, a disaster like Vista, or something altogether different. While Microsoft will be giving out DVDs of the beta version of Windows 7 during its MSDN Developer Conference (to be held in January), in the meantime, a test edition of Vista SP2 is available for download from the company’s TechNet website.

Windows 7 is said to include security improvements as well as advanced functionality, compatibility with the latest Bluetooth accessories and Blu-ray media support. Notably, it also features Microsoft’s Windows Connect Now Wi-Fi configuration program. Personally, while I have, for the most part, gotten used to my Vista machine and its “quirks”, I’ll happily upgrade if Windows 7 can provide a much more seamless experience.
