The Nintendo Wii is on top as the most frequently searched for electronic item this holiday season. A study by ComScore, indicates that online searches for Nintendo Wii consoles rose sixty-four percent in December, with over 1.9 million queries made for the item.

Chief Wii competitors, such as Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s XBOX consoles, also saw growth in December, but it was less then half the amount the Wii enjoyed. Both models received a some-what modest thirty percent increase in December.

The real surprise in online search queries though was that of the iPhone. The very popular gadget, actually experienced 18 percent fewer searches in December. The reason for this is not known, but is widely expected to be a short-term dip, which should be reversed by future iPhone updates.
