China has been accelerating computer spying and attacks on the US government, defense contractors, and American businesses, according to a congressional committee.

In its annual report, the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission stated that the ongoing Chinese space program is allowing Beijing to more effectively focus on US military forces. For instance, Chinese satellite imagery can locate US battle concentration on land and sea more accurately, faster and farther away.

The report said “China is intent on expanding its sphere of control even at the expense of its Asian neighbors and the United States.”

The recommendation from the committee was that US government agencies receive funds to monitor and protect computer networks.

China has previously denied undermining other coutries’ interests.
