Believe it or not, it looks like an inventor out of England will set off on a trip from London all the way to Timbuktu Mali, in his newly completed “Skycar” invention. And yes, the “Skycar” is in fact a flying automobile.

The vehicle, which reportedly can handle both air and road travel, is both street and air legal and will be tested in a forty-two day journey, spanning 6400 kilometres. The inventor is Neil Laughton. The trip is set to be a test of the Skycar in many different geographic and weather conditions, as it will be both flying over areas including the Pyrenees and Atlas mountains, as well as over the Sahara.

The specs? Altitude wise the Skycar is capable of up to 900 metres, and 110 KM in the sky. Its road speed tops out at 180 KM. Construction and planning of the Skycar has cost almost half a million dollars, so let’s all hope for the best!
