A company that has been known for selling video game simulator chairs, is seeking to transform movie theatres by installing motion seating. The seats are configured to work together with the D-BOX Motion Code-enabled films such as the upcoming 4th version of Fast & Furious. The technology allows film studios the option to synchronize the audience seats with a frame-by-frame reaction time to the action on the screen. The seats are able to pitch, heave, roll, and what D-BOX terms “Intelligent Vibrations”.

The “Fast & Furious” D-BOX motion experience can be seen at the Mann Chinese 6 theatre in Hollywood, and if the release is successful, the technology is likely to become available in many more theatres in the foreseeable future. Since the movie industry is facing a tough struggle to remain profitable, competing with a recession and highly advanced home theatre systems, D-BOX’s motion seating could keep movie enthusiasts frequenting the theaters for years to come.
