PlayStation “Home” To Launch Thursday
Sony is set to launch it’s new online community for PS3 players this Thursday. The much anticipated and frequently delayed virtual world, called “Home” will be offered free of charge, and is meant to be a fun place for the PS3 community to interact.
Users of the service will connect to it through their PlayStation online, and, like similar services, will create digital avatars to represent themselves. The “Home” world will include a multitude of virtual buildings for users to visit and interact in. However, the core of “Home” is gamers playing together and forming a community.
Sony says this is a place solely for gamers to connect, and is not meant to rival online worlds such as “Second Life.”
