A large group of Facebook users are up in arms as Facebook has banned the posting of breast-feeding pictures on their social networking website. In fact, the movement to allow such photos has attracted a whopping eighty-thousand plus to sign a petition. Also, a Facebook group has formed, called “Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!”.

This all started when Facebook removed a slew of pictures involving breastfeeding from their social network, explaining that “too much” of the mother’s breast was shown. Also, they were not shy about mentioning that if such “offenders” continue to post such photos, they may permanently ban the user from their website.

Personally, I’m not sure where I stand on this one — while I don’t find photos of breastfeeding offensive, I also believe that Facebook should be able to enact whatever rules they see fit on their website. We’ll see if the protests change their minds on this one.
