In some joint news from Microsoft and Netflix it appears that the two companies have struck a deal to allow Netflix streaming video content to appear through the Windows Media Center. Both companies are now actually confirming this news, so if you use both of the two services it could mean good things for you.

All of the over twelve thousand (is that ever a whopping number!) streaming movies that Netflix offers will be available through Windows Media, however only those PC users who run Vista (and in the future presumably Windows Seven) will be able to access the content. Those on XP will unfortunately be left out in the cold. Users will be able to quickly search for Netflix DVD’s through the Windows Media Center and find content that is ready to watch instantly through their PC. Of course, those wishing to access the content must first purchase a Netflix subscription.
