The Blackberry Storm was officially released for sale yesterday, and it certainly is already a hit. In fact, Verizon, the phone carrier who sells the Storm in the US, has witnessed very long lines, and even sellouts from Blackberry enthusiasts. Lines started at a very early 5:30 AM, and topped out at 150 people. Those who are unable to get a phone due to sellouts, will be able to place an order and receive theirs in a matter of days.

Clearly the BlackBerry Storm has iPhone like buzz and is drawing in the masses. The company looks forward to a fruitful holiday season, amid growing economic uncertainty.

So what’s all the hype about? The Blackberry Storm includes a touch screen with a virtual keyboard, as well as a media player and other iPhone-like attributes that you would expect from a full-featured smart-phone.
