It’s been an unusually eventful week for the trusty old computer mouse, first celebrating its fourtieth birthday, and now enjoying another major milestone, as computer periphial manufacturer Logitech is reporting that they have sold their one billionth mouse! Quite a staggering number, indeed!

Logitech, of course, has a long history with the computer mouse, having sold their first mouse over twenty years ago in 1985. Eleven years later they were able to celebrate their one millionth mouse sale, and twelve years since that accouncement they are at their one billionth. Now, there is some talk of the emergence of touch-screen technology perhaps driving the mouse into future exctintion, but this week, for Logitech at least, is one for celebration.
