Korea Gets 3G Mobile Network
The establishment of a cutting edge, high-tech wireless phone network is being celebrated by officials in North Korea. The network was constructed by a company out of Egypt, called Orascom Telecom Holding, which went to work on the network after finalizing a four hundred million dollar agreement with North Korea in the early part of 2008.
North Korea is an unlikely home for their new 3G network, which allows for mobile internet usage, as well as advanced features such as video calls. It’s uncertain who exactly will be allowed to use the network. That is, of course, because North Korea is a country which sternly regulates its citizens ability to view certain types of information, and that includes the use of technology.
