Internet Users Hit One Billion Mark!
For the first time in its relatively short history, the internet’s usage among the world-wide population has exceeded one billion. The data collected included only those who are 15 years and older, so their may be a fair number of younger web users who are unaccounted for in the one billion user data.
Geographically speaking, the Asian-Pacific area dominated the percentage of the internt using population, accounting for 41 percent of total web users. Europe, with 28 percent was second, with North America’s 18 percent making it the third largest web using population. Surprisingly, Latin American saw a large increase in web traffic, accounting for 7 percent all internet users.
Which country has the largest amount of web users? Not a huge surprise really, the answer is China, with almost 180 million web users. America was second with 163 million.
