Twitter has experienced some major security problems in the last few days, which has resulted in the hacking of some prominent user accounts. While the security issue has only affected thirty-three accounts, the names behind those accounts are what makes this particularly security problem such big news.

What am I getting at? The Twitter account of big name celebrities such as Britney Spears, Rick Sanchez, Tyler Perry, Dave Matthews, Shaquille O’Neal (known, of course, as “Shaq” around here) and even President-elect Barack Obama!

The hackers didn’t seem to profit from the attack, but merely posted insulting comments on the hacked Twitter accounts. At this point Twitter has appeared to resolved the issue, and put the accounts back in the hand’s of their rightful owners.
