Discovery Communications is contending that the Amazon Kindle ebook is violating a patent that Discovery registered back in 2007. On Tuesday, Discovery has sued Amazon in Delaware. The company is looking forĀ  “fair compensation” through damages, legal fees, future royalty payments but will not pursue an injunction which would stop sales of the Kindle. Discovery, is the company behind the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet cable TV networks, stating Amazon.com was “willful” in infringing the patent. Discovery is argues that the patent covers the security of electronic book files.
