Even though it seems as if we have been seeing the commercials about “low-cost converter boxes” and Digital TV transition for over a year now (that might actually be a correct figure, has it been a year?), apparently many Americans are not yet ready for the switch. In fact, team Obama is looking to delay the full-fledged switch to digital, as they now believe that an immediate switch-off of analog will cause unnecessary problems for the TV-viewing populace.

The switch was supposed to take place on February 17th, with television stations set to cease the sending of traditional analog signals.

The need for a delay is said to be due to the slow distribution of the coupons advertised for converter boxes, with hundreds of thousands of Americans still waiting to obtain their coupon. Without a converter box, those with old (some might say very old) television sets would not be able to receive television service through the new digital system.
