Nova Scotia has become the first Canadian province to adopt a new enviro-focus program which will encourage Canadians to recycle their no-longer-used mobile phones. The program features a new website which directs users to cellphone drop off locations, where a user can hand in their old phones (batteries and headsets too), which will then be sent to specialized recycling locations.

The website offers a list of the closet cell phone recycling drop off locations, so that users can pick the one that’s most convenient for them. The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Network states that the goal of the program is to keep as many wireless phones out of landfills as possible, and with its 3500 cellphone drop off stations, it should be of quite a help. If you’re in NS, you can check out the program’s website at www.recyclemycell.ca .
