If you’re a Canadian, be prepared to start paying more for blank your blank CDs. Unfortunately for the average blank CD consumer, the Copyright Board has heightened the levies charged on Canadian blank Cd’s sales.

The levy is intended to compensate the music industry for the large amount of copyrighted material that unlawful gets copied to many of these blank CDS. It doesn’t take in to account those who are lawfully copying their own data, which is certainly unfortunate for those individuals. With a levee increase of 38 percent, consumers will certainly be feeling a little pain in their wallets when purchasing blank CDs in the future. Really though, this is nothing new, as levies of this kind have been in effect since 1999.
