Looking for a job? Lately it seems as though almost every company around is laying folks off, especially in the technology and manufacturing sectors. Well, RIM (Research In Motion), makers of the ever-popular Blackberry line, is a bright light in an otherwise dark sea of employment options.

Research In Motion is currently looking to fill 1250 job openings, all of which are newly created. These opportunities span the globe, however many of them are based at the Canadian tech-companies headquarters in Ontario, Canada (Waterloo).

Why is RIM growing as others are laying employees off? The expansion at RIM is likely due to the fact that they have been launching new BlackBerry products left and right. While other companies release just a couple of new smart-phones each year, Blackberry has unveiled four new models in just five months! Let’s hope their growth continues, and that many can find the employment they need at RIM.
