A Look At Firefox’s Piece Of The Pie
Some good news for Mozilla and, more specifically, their Firefox browser, as it appears the web-browser has hit a new milestone — a twenty percent hold on the internet browser market. This is the biggest piece of the browser-pie that Firefox has enjoyed yet to date, and even more positively, it appears that their growth may lead to additional milestones.
There was actually a time when almost everybody used Microsoft’s Explorer browser, and it enjoyed a ninety five percent dominance of the market! Firefox, and other browsers sure have come along way.
While Internet Explorer still claims a seventy percent market share, Firefox comes in second with their twenty percent, and Apple’s Safari a distant third at eight percent. Notably, Google’s new browser chrome has already surpassed Opera, taking a .83 percent market share.
What About You? These numbers are no huge surprise to me, as I’ve been using FireFox almost exclusively for a few years now (although I did give Chrome a brief trial run), and find it to include a perfect mix of features and speed for my web use. The new numbers would indicate that many other users likely feel the same.
